Biochar Wool Pellets 3kg Box
A slow-release soil amendment combining biochar with wool, made into a pellet built for New Zealand gardens.
Sustaina Grow's Biochar Wool Pellets lock in nutrients and improve soil structure with biochar, while the wool breaks down naturally, feeding microbial life and helping your soil hold moisture through dry spells.
Made in Ohakune, at the foot of Mount Ruapehu, by a small team of rural women.
Why gardeners use it:
- Improves water retention, so you water less and lose less
- Feeds soil biology as the wool breaks down over the season
- Reduces nutrient leaching, keeping fertiliser where your plants can use it
- Increases soil carbon, helping build long-term soil health rather than a one-season fix
- Improves aeration and drainage by adding porous structure to compacted or heavy soils
- Buffers soil pH, creating a more stable environment for root growth
- Provides surface area for beneficial microbes and fungi to establish and multiply. - Doesn't break down quickly, so the structural benefits to your soil last for years, not weeks
-Simple to use: work into soil at planting or top-dress established beds
How to use: Mix into soil before planting, or sprinkle around the base of established plants and water in. One application supports a full growing season.
