In our past collaborations, we’ve teamed up with various groups to create wool sandbags, which have proven effective in suppressing the spread of invasive underwater weeds such as Caulerpa seaweed. By strategically placing these wool sandbags, they have provided a natural barrier that limits the seaweed’s growth, helping to restore the balance of native marine vegetation and prevent further ecological disruption.

Additionally, we have developed large scale weighted wool mats to suppress unwanted underwater growth. These mats are designed to effectively cover areas with overgrown or invasive species, providing both physical suppression yet not releasing any microplastics into the ocean like traditional synthetic benthic mats.
